2. Document sharing : Basecamp

Basecamp can be integrated with other cloud services like Dropbox or google drive among others.  It has a chat function and advanced to do lists that include due dates. A strongpoint for Basecamp is its security which include firewalls, daily backups, data encryption and surveillance.

 

3.Version control: GitHub

GitHub is a cloud based source code management system that supports all popular programing languages. GitHub tracks all changes that have been made one your code, who makes it, and when the changes were made. It is also considered a sort of social network, or a community for programmers so there is a lot of support available.

 

4. Prototyping: InVision

Invision is a popular prototyping tool and is great for the early stages of projects, allowing you to create clickable versions of your design. It allows coworkers or clients to add messages to any part of the design as well as to send and receive messages. It has a simple and clear interface.

 

5. Time Tracking: Time Doctor

Time Doctor shows regular screen grabs of staff computer monitors to determine what sites and apps they are using and what they use the most. It determines where and how they spend their time, even if the worker is working remotely. The Data that time doctor collects is specific allowing us to bill clients with proof of the staff services provided. Time Doctor’s servers encrypt all information logs, records and screenshots. It also integrates with Basecamp.

 

6. Project Management:  Basecamp

Basecamp has been around for over a decade. It is simple and easy to use. Basecamp includes a central access point to get to emails, documents and chats etc. It comes with To Do lists that include due dates.  To do list are retrievable if its for, say, an annual project or event that you have worked on in the past

 

7. Code Testing:  CodeScan

CodeScan is a cloud based code testing program. It will be helpful to us in that one can scan their code from anywhere. Codescan is compatible with GitHub and can also be used as a plug in for your code editor such as Visual Studio Code.

 

8. Digital Marketing Analytics: Google Analytics

Google Analytics analyses web traffic and tracks audience behaviour, shows real time traffic data and ranks your pages by popularity. It is free until the website gets 5 million monthly views and then it becomes costly.

 

9. SEO (Search Engine Optimization): Ahrefs

Aghrefs is an SEO tool that lets you know your website’s Google ranking and it helps you optimize the site’s keywords to make your page more visible. It is also known as a backlink checker. Backlinks are links to your page from other authority sites, which increases your credibility. Ahrefs helps you create content to generate these backlinks and build a higher Google ranking.

 

10. Page Speed Testing : Page Speed Insights

Page Speed Insights is a Google platform and is of course free. The program analyzes a website’s front-end performance and generates optimization suggestions. Some of the website technical components it responds to are server response time, image optimization, browser caching, HTML, CSS, and redirects among others.
